Recharging

We all have them -those times when our spark fades. When it feels like you've just drained out, mentally and physically? Not just when your creativity takes a break, but when your joy does, too. When you feel like you've lost your way, you've fallen off the path and into the rut beside it. When you feel like your life is living you instead of the other way around.

Do you ever just take the time to recharge? Well, that's what I did last week.

Not that I wasn't busy. I worked harder than I have in a long time.
I got my summer garden relocated and set up and almost completely planted.
I did all of the spring yardwork.
I did total spring cleaning in my house - from the baseboards up to the ceiling fans.
I cleaned the garage.
I built a desk and bookshelves for my kids. And when I say built, I mean it. Not assembled. Built.
I made a handful of beads but was too exhausted by the end of the day to photograph them.
I threw a small going away party for my parents. They've headed back North for the summer.
I went bathing suit shopping. And I think we all know how draining that can be!

It's been busy, but that re-energizes me. Taking a break from the routine and getting everything in order is the best way for me to get a fresh perspective on things. What about you? What clears your mind and puts your feet back on the path?

Laurie, I understand the need for a recharge, AND I am in awe of the productive way you handled it! You must feel like a million bucks right now, knowing you've got all those to-do's crossed off the list! I need some of your motivation, can you pass some up this way?

L~ You handled it PERFECTLY. Most people don't have the insight as to how to get past it but you managed to walk all over it. I think we all need a re-charge from time to time. Good to see you up and running again toots

Thanks, ladies. I do feel better this week. Something about clearing things up off of the to-do list sort of cleans my 'attic'. It makes me think more clearly and focus on more important issues, instead of wasting time worrying about all those little things that need to get accomplished but never do.

Well done Laurie. What an awesome way to recharge - talk about taking the bull by it's horns!

You know sometimes I suspect that it's the things on our mental 'To Do' lists that cause our creativity & joy to go awol!

One of my objectives for this years was to create a "Stop Doing" list. I must get onto that!

A 'stop-doing' list. I love it!!! What would be the first thing on it? Hmmm.....
